- The covert x front led is not illuminated? What's wrong?

Is the external power adapter connected to the Convert X?
If yes.
Then you need to check if the unit is connected to the computer to an USB port.
When that's also correctly done then there's one last thing to verify and that's to see if the unit is detected by the OS. This can easily be verified when checking the safely remove hardware menu. The Convert X should be represented here. If not and all software and connection were correctly made and installed then the unit is defective and you should apply for an rma number.
