A Network Attached Storage (NAS) device with security features

Plextor has overcome the problem of small business networks requiring extra storage and back-up: a convenient 160GB Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that comes equipped with extra features. As well as providing instant shared storage across the network, the PX-EH16L includes: a print server that can share a printer over the network when connected to it via USB; and an automated backup scheduler from the NAS to a USB connected external HDD of the same capacity. Additionally, the Professional Network HDD is both secure and flexible: it includes a high security feature so that the administrator can limit access to certain folders; and it can be configured as a dedicated FTP server.

Overview

Data sharing
With this easy to set up NAS (Network Attached Storage), multiple users can access and share all kinds of data. High performance is guaranteed by a high-speed CPU and UltraDMA133 HDD.

Security setup
Access to the data can be restricted with the built-in security features to be set by the administrator.

Printer sharing
The built-in server function enables registered users to share a USB printer connected to the device.

Backup solution
The device features a scheduled back-up system which enables you to back up your NAS data to a USB-connected drive.

Silent operation
The noise reduction is achieved by the heat-released aluminum case & the convection cooling design which has no fan installed. The system will quietly go into the sleep mode when not accessed for a period of time.

Easy setup by DHCP client
When a DHCP server is installed in the network, setting up an IP address for the NAS is not required. Just connect to the network and power it on.

High speed data sharing
Possibility for FTP server function (Max transfer rate 94.5 Mbps)
